Tips for starting your day RIGHT!

Every morning we open our eyes is a gift; a chance to begin fresh and embrace a new day. While that sound may sound simple, for many of us, it is a challenge.

For the month of April our theme at Blossom is Renewal, and so we thought we would share some quick tips on how to start and end your days with gratitude and positivity.

A great way to begin your day is to make a quick list of 3 things you get to do that day. These can be anything that will bring you joy, even as simple as getting to stop at your favourite cafe on your way to work!

The language we use when speaking to ourselves can sometimes slip into the negative. For example; I HAVE to go to work today, I MUST go to the gym etc. Instead, try to substitute some words with a more positive spin; I’m LUCKY to work in a career that I’m passionate about, I GET to move my body today and make it strong. A simple tweaking of words can give your self talk and mindset a whole new spin.

At the end of your day a great way to de-stress and unwind is to take part in a mediation. There are so many great apps available with preloaded (and free) meditations and music that you can tune into anytime. Insight Timer is a great place to start if you’re unsure! Its full of tracks for every mood and you can even filter them by duration so you can be sure to find one that will fit with your schedule. You can also incorporate some deep breathing in here too.

Another great way to end the day is to step away from your gadgets and social media. This one can be easier said than done, but the rewards are well worth it. By blocking out blue light at least 2 hours before bed you can ensure your body begins producing melatonin, (a hormone essential for sleep) and really begins to relax and have the quality rest it deserves.

We hope these tips were helpful, and that you found something you can take on board with you for this month and all the rest to come!
