Self Care During the Festive Season

As the wind down of 2023 begins, what an ideal time for looking inward and practicing some self care. For many, the festive period is full of celebrations with friends and family, indulgent eating and many late nights. This can lead to feeling overwhelmed and stressed, so we’ve put together some small acts of self care which you can incorporate too.

Give yourself a free pass
As much as you may want to commit to every holiday event possible, you can sometimes end up stretched thin and exhausted by the concept of so many social interactions. It is absolutely ok to pass on a party in lieu of staying in and watching a quiet Christmas movie on the couch instead.

Nourish your body with healthy options
The temptations of decadent Christmassy desserts are hard to resist for anyone; as is overfilling your plate with delicious morsels we miss out on all year. The key to keeping your stomach happy and satisfied is to indulge without overdoing it and choosing some quality whole foods (grains, veggies and fruits) to fill you up first. Keeping yourself hydrated is also very important, especially if you choose to have alcohol. No one wants a headache when you should be enjoying celebrations.

Schedule some time for yourself to have an adjustment
A body which feels great, and a nervous system which is functioning correctly will make all the difference in how you enjoy and participate in this months festivities. Scheduling time for your regular adjustments is self care at its finest. Let us help your body unwind and relax.

Making sure you have quality rest
With many late nights on the horizon, ensure you are prioritising sleep. Whether it’s in the form of a late sleep in, or an afternoon nap on the couch; it’s important you allow your body time to rest and recuperate. Enjoy this time doing things that bring you happiness, surrounded by those who bring joy to your life!
